Mahyco is the first Indian company to commercialize transgenic Bollgard cotton hybrids in India in 2002 and this cutting edge technology (Bt cotton) in cotton has been of immense benefit to millions of farmers across the country.

Bollgard II Roundup Ready Flex cotton (BGII RRF)
Bollgard II Roundup Ready Flex cotton technology provides herbicide- tolerance in the cotton plant for effective weed management, and in built insect protection to bollworm complex and spodoptera caterpillar. Roundup Ready Flex technology will offer farmers the opportunity to apply Roundup agriculture herbicide over the top of cotton plants from the emergence till harvest.
Bollgard II Roundup Ready Flex will provide farmers a cost effective convenient solution, and increased flexibility to manage weeds throughout the cotton growing season. Bollgard II Roundup Ready Flex also offers greater efficacy on the weed management and the benefit of conservation tillage.
Bollgard II Roundup Ready Flex technology from Monsanto has been introgressed in Mahyco cotton hybrids. All the mandatory bio-safety studies and regulatory trials involving Bollgard II Roundup Ready Flex Cotton Hybrids developed by Mahyco viz., MRC 8017 BGII RRF, MRC 8031 BGII RRF in North Zone, MRC 8351 BGII RRF and MRC 8347 BGII RRF in both Central and South Zone completed successfully and awaited for commercial release (permission) from the Ministry of Environment and Forest.
